JUNE 2008 PADDLE PAMLICO
NEWSLETTER
---------------------------------------------------------------
Busy, busy are we with kayak rentals and
tours, retreats, shows and seminars...
We're now renting kayaks in
Oriental (at our original location, across from the Town
Dock), and in New Bern (at Galley Stores and
Marina, 300 East Front Street, on
the waterfront). What better way to explore historic downtown
New Bern than from the water, at your
own pace? Ask about our new guided kayak tours,
too. Our sunrise tours are proving
to be quite popular... it's a superb way to start your day.
CRAVEN COUNTY PADDLE TRAIL MAPS
are NOW AVAILABLE. Unveiled
last weekend at Neuse River Day, these paddle maps are a wonderful
resource for new and experienced paddlers. Produced by the Craven
County Tourism Development Authority and the Twin Rivers Paddle
Club, the Craven County Paddle Trails maps are distributed at
the New Bern Convention and Visitors Center. The map is also available
in a trip-by-trip format on-line at: http://www.co.craven.nc.us/parks/paddle/maps.cfm
Paddle Pamlico's
PaddleFest 2008 was a hit! We held an interesting and informative
kayak fishing seminar hosted by guide
Chris Ellis of Greenville, the ever popular and crowd
pleasing safety and rolling demonstrations by Terry Rich and Cal
Bridgers, kayak demos, guided tours,
lots of good food, and good times. Thank you very much to
all who participated.
