Early morning risers ventured out into the calm waters of the Neuse River to enjoy a beautiful sunrise. Then onto Chris Ellis's Kayak fishing Demo, where we learned about the Hobie Outback kayak and how well it works for fishing. Chris also let us in on where to get Flounder, Specked Trout and Reds and what bait to use.

Terri Rich and Cal Bridgers informed everyone on the safety aspects of kayaking and demonstrated a variety of rescues as well as kayak rolls.

A gourmet lunch of burgers, dogs, chips and a beverage were consumed before a 2 hour leisurely paddle up Smith Creek also known as the "backyard tour" where paddlers of all abilities enjoyed the fabulous day that was presented to us.
